Faculty and Key Staff
Central Texas School of Taxidermy is owned by Kelly Leifeste. Kelly,
a Certified Taxidermist and Director/Instructor, operates the school with
former student Jason Bynum, who joined Kelly as partners in the school in
2008.
Personal Attention
We offer a very personal approach to teaching which we feel is very
important in learning taxidermy techniques. We keep our classes small so
that we may give you this personal attention. One of the most important
issues: we are here to help you even after you leave our school with our new
1-800 number. All of our ex-students may use this number if at any time they
need any technical advice.

Tuition
As of 2009, the cost of our six-week class is $6900.00 and the cost of our two-week
class is $2300.00.
A 10% deposit is required with all enrollment applications. Applications received without a deposit will not be processed.
These costs will include all specimens, supplies, tools, chemicals, forms and equipment necessary to complete this course. All mounts will be the property of the student for display in their new business. There are no hidden costs. Texas Rehabilitation Commission and VA students need to call for tuition pricing.

Hours
Class hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM with 2 fifteen
minute breaks during the day and a one hour lunch. Classes will not be held
on National Holidays which include New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Admissions
A Student should have either a High School Diploma or a GED Certificate;
however if one is not available, then the student can take an ability to
benefits test (Enrollment Exam) and score a minimum of 70 to be admitted
into the school. If a retake is necessary, the student will need to wait a
minimum of 5 calendar days prior to retaking the test. In addition to these
admission requirements, the student must also be able to distinguish colors.

unless the class enrollment limitation is reached prior to that date. A
signed Enrollment must be sent to the school with a 10% deposit of the
tuition before a student is considered enrolled in the school.
